Who knew there were so many ways to have fun with color? We spent the afternoon enjoying all kinds of science experiments with color. First, after coloring dots with washable markers on paper towels, we dipped them into salted water and watched the colors separate into different pigments–one color became several!
Another science experiment involved setting the stems of white carnations into different food coloring. Within an hour, the colors began to show in the white petals….a long trip up the flower stem in such a short time! By the end of the day, the flowers were beautiful!
Rainbow sherbet was the snack of the day……colorful and tasty….
Our next activity was science related too…..not sure we learned anything, but really enjoyed some beautiful, colorful designs, with each member’s so different from each others. Using a bowl of milk, drops of food coloring and a toothpick dipped in dish detergent, our creative, artistic members enjoyed watching their own colorful creations change with each touch…..and also enjoyed watching each others.
The Next Stop also enjoyed a visit from Ms. Lynnette. She always bring new and exciting activities to the group–and everyone always loves it–and her!
For 8 weeks in the summer, The Next Stop meets an extra afternoon in the week for bowling. Members have had great times cheering for each other and perfecting their games.
